We depart Kuala Lumpur on the first morning and head eastward to our campsite deep in the jungles of Pahang State. After a good night’s rest, we make the second leg of the journey to the East Coast, where we relax overnight in an authentic Malay kampung house facing the beautiful sandy beaches of the South China Sea. The third day sees us driving north to the famous East-West highway, climbing to 5,000 feet as we transverse the Main Range mountains.

We spend the night overlooking the scenic Temenggor Lake. The final day sees us heading back to Kuala Lumpur to arrive late in the evening. The entire expedition route is designed on the old trunk and secondary roads with minimal highway driving, along with off-road sectors. The Malayan Overland Expedition is a unique travel experience that allows you to see Malaysia from a totally different perspective. No tour groups, tourist buses or “touristy” locations – just an intimate encounter with the hidden parts of Malaya that few people apart from locals ever reach.

Meals will be provided in the jungle, but we will stop daily at meal times at convenient places along the way. Bear in mind local fare will be prevalent, particularly in the more isolated areas. Extended stays at any of the stops are possible with additional daily surcharges. Advance bookings and confirmations are necessary due to the planning involved.
