Our Land-Rovers
To us the only vehicle really befitting the
title “Safari Expedition” is the Series Land-Rover.
As Land-Rover nuts, we knew that this was a vehicle that evoked
a great sense of adventure in anyone who travelled in it.
This rugged 4x4 is a legend worldwide and we knew that no
other vehicle would do!
We run a fleet made up exclusively of Series-Land
Rovers. Our main touring vehicles are 4 well-loved long wheelbase
Series 3 “Landies”. All carry the unique and distinctive
Malayan Safaris livery and in keeping with tradition, we named
them “Mohican”, “Bushman”, “Tru
Tok” and “Udumboo”. They are fitted with
2.25 litre petrol engines, and carry full offroad recovery,
safety and first aid gear, allowing us to meet any eventuality.
Inside they are fitted with comfortable seats and an ice box
for cold drinks.
We’d like to point out that our vehicles
are not air-conditioned. Why? We strongly feel that any trip
should be an experience for all of the senses – and
so one must not only see, but also smell and hear what really
makes up the heart of Malaya. It’s far more meaningful
than being cooped up and sealed off in some air-conditioned
box!
We also have another 4 Series “Landies” in support.
Two are rare 1956 Series One long wheelbase pickups, named
“Tanjong” and “Jelebu”. One is a 1966
Series 2a hardtop called “Angus”, while the fourth
is a 1980 Series 3 short wheelbase station wagon named “Adik”.
These vehicles carry out logistics and resupply duties, allowing
us to carry all we need for our jungle expeditions. We also
own a 1955 Brockhouse trailer which we have converted into
a mobile field kitchen.
All our vehicles are rigorously maintained to the highest
of standards to ensure your trip goes safely and smoothly.
